Presbyterian Counselling Associates (PCA) Signs Partnership with Haven Counselling Centre in SBC The Presbyterian Counselling Associates (PCA) are now officially partners with The Haven Counselling Centre in Singapore Bible College (SBC) serving PCS. The Haven, the counselling centre under the School of Counselling in Singapore Bible College, has been providing counselling by qualified Christian counsellors since 2010. PCA was formed in May 2020 during the Circuit Breaker period, when a group of professional counsellors mostly from The Haven Counselling Centre who were also members of various local Presbyterian churches came together with the aim to extend care and support to PCS community during the circuit breaker lock down period. With the collaboration now made official, PCA hopes to assist PCS’s member churches and their pastoral teams in the care and counselling of members and worshippers. As Christian counsellors, PCA is committed to journey with fellow believers in their personal, relational, emotional, psychological and faith struggles. Rev Carrie Chan, retired minister, who helms the work of PCA notes, “while counselling and therapy can take place for a season in the privacy of the counselling room for the benefit of an individual or couple, clients still need to return to an authentic faith community where they can belong, find acceptance, be encouraged in God’s Word and grow in faith. Our prayer is that this partnership between the counselling centre and the churches will further serve to bring Christ’s healing and wholeness to anyone who is troubled or hurting in their hearts and minds.” How can members or pastors in church reach out to PCA for counselling services? Members and regular worshippers of the Presbyterian Church may reach PCA via this link. Information provided by clients remain confidential and will only be shared by the PCA Administrator with the counsellor assigned to client. Pastors may also refer member(s) to PCA via the same link and where members are agreeable, support their members through the counselling process. To support the work of PCA, churches can publicise their service by sharing this link. on their website or through announcements to their members. Churches can also consider helping to subsidise counselling fees of their own church members by setting aside a ministry budget according to their own policies and objectives. Lastly, churches with counselling rooms on their premises can also open its use to counsellors to meet with fellow Presbyterian clients who live near your location. For more details on church and Haven relationship, please contact Rev Carrie Chan at carrie.chan@agpc.sg. For more information on PCA, you may visit https://tinyurl.com/PCAInfo.
