Update on Cambodia Missions in 2020
From October to November, the Cambodia Missions Taskforce, together with Orchard Road Presbyterian Church (ORPC), organised an outreach (via Zoom) to Synod Presbyterian Churches Cambodia (SPCC) PP churches' youths and young adults, on “God's Big Picture” and “Using Arts as an Outreach platform”. More than 50 participants from Cambodian churches took part in the 2020 Youth Equipping Conference for Cambodian pastors and youth leaders, where participants learnt about how the Bible fits as one picture to proclaim God’s salvation plan through Jesus Christ.
The conference also included an arts workshop, whereby youth leaders were trained to conduct art workshops for outreach purposes, in hopes to encourage creativity amongst local believers, as well as reach out to other youths in Cambodia to take their first step into church premises. With the resumption of small group activities, our partner churches in Phnom Penh are continuing with the Design for Discipleship (DfD) Bible study series with youths.
As an encouragement for our on-the-ground partners and their activities, ORPC has given a love gift and support for DfD materials amounting to USD 1,850 to the Synod Presbyterian Churches Cambodia (SPCC) and seven churches (5P Church, Amazing Grace Presbyterian Church, Phnom Penh Presbyterian Church, Kampong Speu Presbyterian Church, Life Mission Presbyterian Church, Power of the Lord Church, People Presbyterian Community Church). 2021 CAMBODIA MISSIONS PROGRAMME Subject to COVID restrictions, the Cambodia Missions Task Force currently plans to conduct the programmes originally intended for 2020 in 2021, which may include up to 2 mission trips to Cambodia (tentatively in August and September 2021). More information will be provided closer to date.
