Synod Held Their First Virtual Annual General Meeting in September

The 2020 Synod Annual General Meeting was held on 28 September 2020. In light of the COVID-19 situation and safety distancing measures, the Synod Exco made the decision to conduct it online, via the video conferencing platform, Zoom. Following the suggested procedures as provided by MCCY, the voting was done by proxy via electronic mail, sent to the delegates one month in advance.

The AGM commenced with the Synod Moderator Rt Rev Keith Lai opening the meeting in prayer, and a worship video recorded by the members of Chen Li Presbyterian Church. It was followed by reports of the matters arising, reports by Synod Exco, two Presbyteries and the various committees' reports, out of which the reports on Presbyterian Care Singapore-Network (reported by Rev Ang Eng Hoe) and Synod Mission Council (reported by Rev Phua Chee Seng) were especially highlighted. The meeting wrapped up successfully in 2 hours, with over 240 church ministers from 37 member churches attending the meeting.
