Christian Preschool Task Force

In recent times, Christian preschools are faced with challenges arising from socio-education initiatives. Some have ceased operations due to low enrolment and financial difficulties while many are continuing with losses being underwritten by local sponsoring churches as part of ministry.

Recognising the importance of 'Kingdom-garten' ministry, and the need for churches, Christian preschools and Christian educators to come together, a Preschool Task Force was constituted early in the year to overcome the challenges together with other churches.

As part of a recent forum held on 23 May 2019 for Presbyterian and Lutheran preschools at Orchard Road Presbyterian Church, the Preschool Task Force initiated the following partnership programs:

1.	ECDC Regulatory Compliance Workshop & Consultation (By Lim Ee Tuo, Director, St. James' Preschool Services) Fridays, 5, 12, 17, 25 July 2019, 2PM - 4PM Presbyterian Community Services Training Academy 89 Short St, Singapore 188216 (behind Rochor MRT)

This is a series of workshop for preschool principals to understand the new ECDC Act and Regulations. Participants will learn how they can better design their school fees, programs and services. Participants will also work together to develop SOPs and Templates for their centres.

2.	Development Support (DS) & Learning Support (LS) By Presbyterian Community Services

This is an early detection and intervention program. The DS and LS builds capability and capacity to support children with developmental needs. This program includes Learning Support Educator Service and Therapy Service. See MORE.
