PEC Dedication Service 2015

What exactly is a teacher? That question was answered at the Presbyterian Education Council (PEC) Dedication Service, held at Pei Hwa Primary School on 16 January 2015. We were greatly honoured to have Mr Lim Siong Guan, Group President of the Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC) and author of the bestselling book, 'The Leader, The Teacher & You' as our guest-of-honour. 'The Leader, The Teacher & You' was also the theme for the evening.

After a short worship session, Mr Lim then gave his speech, sharing from his book on how to be a leader in our schools, greatly encouraging all the teachers present. The audience was then enthralled by the students of Pei Hwa who showcased their talents in two special performances. Their Chinese Dance team first put up a rousing dance display, followed by a small group of students from the school’s Chinese Society who displayed their storytelling skills, sharing about the founding of Singapore.

The PEC also arranged to have copies of Mr Lim's book for sale during the service at a reduced price, believing that his book would definitely bless and benefit the teachers. Many of our teachers also had the opportunity to have the book autographed on the spot by Mr Lim.

Overall, it was a meaningful and fitting start of another year of service to the Lord.
