ANNEX A
Terms and Conditions
In addition to the basic eligibility criteria statad earlier, every participant hereby certifies and agrees to all the following:
-
Commitment, Honouring One Another. I will treat other parties, especially members of the opposite sex,
with all due honour and courtesy, in accordance with the standards of the Bible. If I make a commitment to
any party, I will honour such commitment as God enables, and will not knowingly choose to break my
commitment unless my circumstances have materially changed. In all cases, I will seek the good of the parties
I have made commitments to, so that God will be glorified in all that I do or say.
-
Respect One Another. I will lovingly agree to disagree in areas of disagreement in non-essentials, and I will
always choose not to attack, tear down or undermine others. I will submit to the decision of the Committee if
I am asked to leave for causing undue offence or annoyance to others, and will also not continue with such
conduct concerning relevant parties after I have left.
-
Honesty. I will be honest at all times in my sharing, background and personal details, and expectations, and I
will not claim to be what I am not in my speech and actions.
-
Eligibility. If I wish to participate but do not fulfil eligibility criteria, I will submit to the final, non-appealable
decision of the Committee taken in consultation with a relevant Pastor of the church in which I am a member.
If I am not a member of any church, EP or otherwise, I will submit to the final decision of the Committee.
-
Privacy and personal data protection. By my participation, I agree that the Committee, the English
Presbytery, and their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers and employees, and volunteers (collectively
"Church") may collect, use and disclose my personal data provided by me or (if applicable) obtained by the
Church as a result of my participation, for the following purposes in accordance with the Personal Data
Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA") and the data protection policy of the Presbyterian Church in Singapore:
processing of my application, administration of my participation, for use in connection with Better Half
events, and for any other purposes which the Church may notify me at the time of obtaining my consent. I
understand that I may access and correct my personal data or withdraw my consent to the collection, use or
disclosure of my personal data by contacting the relevant Data Protection Officer(s) of the Presbyterian
Church in Singapore.
-
Photographs videos and other recordings. I consent to photographs, videos and other recordings made of
me during my participation at all events, and to the use and publishing of the same in Presbyterian Church in
Singapore-related publications, website, social media channels and other communication channels.
-
Disputes. In the event of any dispute, disagreement or other conflict with any party in connection with Better
Half, I will faithfully endeavour not to seek legal proceedings (regardless formal, alternative or informal), and
will instead submit the issue to the Committee for final and binding resolution. If my issue is with the
Committee or otherwise involves the Committee, I will submit to the English Presbytery for their final and
binding decision. If, however, my issue or the determination by the Committee or English Presbytery is a
grave or serious matter in my reasonable opinion as a Christian man or woman, I may resort to legal
proceedings in which case I agree to Singapore law as the governing law and the competent courts of
Singapore as having jurisdiction over me.
-
Acceptance of Risks. In consideration of accepting my participation, I agree to participate at my own risk,
and hereby consent to and accept all risks in relation to my participation, save for acts of negligence or default
solely attributable to the Committee and English Presbytery.
-
Indemnification. I will indemnify and hold the Committee and English Presbytery and their parents,
subsidiaries, affiliates, officers and employees, and volunteers harmless from any loss, cost, damage, claim
or demand, including legal fees and costs, made by any third party or incurred or suffered by the Committee
and English Presbytery and their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers and employees, and volunteers,
which arise from my breach of these Terms and Conditions and/or eligibility criteria, or any details or content
I provide.
-
Rights Reserved. I understand and agree that the Committee and/or the English Presbytery have the right to
change these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice to me. In the event that any changes are
made, the revised Terms and Conditions shall be posted on the relevant website(s) and I will be deemed to
have been informed of such changes as well as given my consent to such changes.
